The Growing Parolisi Family | Newport News, Virginia

I absolutely love this time of year, especially for pictures! Nature is just beaming with color and beauty, and makes the perfect backdrop for some beautiful family photos. A few days ago I met up with Mike and Rebecca and their little man Jack (and their little bun in the oven!) at the Mariners' Museum to take some pictures for their Christmas cards. It has been such a blessing photographing this family over the years as they grow, and Jack is such a character - so full of life!

Last year we did their pictures around the Mariners' Museum as well, except this year we decided to venture into the Noland Trail a little big and use one of the bridges. Jack had other plans - he wanted to make his way to the wooded area filled with leaves! Here's a look at how they turned out . . .

Loralye Taylor at 9 Months | Newport News, Virginia

OH MY STARS! I cannot believe that little Miss Loralye is already nine months old! I feel like I was just writing about how excited I was over doing Lindsay and Dale's maternity pictures, and now we are three months shy of celebrating her first birthday! Where does time go? It has been awesome getting to see this little girl grow up and to see her personality form . . . which is right on par with her parent's personalities! (They are going to have their hands full one day!) Take a look at her nine month pictures. She's going to be ONE soon!

that pose . . . tooo much!

The Saunders Gang | Hampton, Virginia

This past weekend, a dear sweet woman had a big birthday, and thankfully by the Grace of God, all of her kiddos and almost all of her grandchildren were able to be here in Virginia (their home in Hampton) to celebrate with her. Prior to her birthday, Jeannie had mentioned she wanted to do family pictures while she had everyone together. What a great idea! All Grandparents and Parents should have pictures like these. Unfortunately it was a CRAZY HOT day, bright sun, and all of the kids had just sat quiet as mice through church, so it was a bit of a challenge, but I think we pulled it off!

Did I mention that he husband Gary is the Patrick Henry Mall Santa Claus?

Loralye Taylor at 6 Months | Virginia Beach, Virginia

This little one is SIX months old . . . well seven months old. Lindsay and I were a smidgen off on getting together for pictures. But either way, isn't she a doll baby? I went over to Virginia Beach to Dale's parent's house to capture a few pics of Loralye and get a few of her in the pool. Oh my stars! I cannot believe how big she is getting. Here are a few pics from the session.

Jackosaurus Turns One | Newport News, Virginia

I was so excited to photograph Jack's first birthday party (and design the invite and place cards). I have been photographing this little dude since he was in his Mommy's tummy! Rebecca did such an amazing job on this party. As I walked up to the house there was dinosaur tracks going up the walk way, the little toy dinos decorating the tables had little party hats and with the help of her mom, Rebecca maid tails for all of the kiddos! It was such a fun day and I was honored to be a part of it and celebrate this little guy's life!

A Growing Family | Portsmouth Family Photographer

For a few weeks now, Melissa and I have been going back and forth trying to match up our schedules to find the perfect time to capture some family photographs of her, Scott and their kiddos. Finally this past Saturday we were able to meet up! We were blessed with a gorgeous day and I had such a fun time getting to know this family and capture an important moment in their life. Here is a look at a few pictures from that morning.

Meet the Ward's | Williamsburg Family Photographer

This past weekend Nick and I went up to Colonial Williamsburg with some friends of ours, Demetrius and LaTina to take some family pictures of them and their children, Gabby, DJ and Jordyn. It was a beautiful afternoon, but due to some scheduling conflicts earlier that day, we weren't left with very  much sunlight. We made the best of it though! And we brought Maggie along, which was not the wisest decision - she wasn't too fond of the cannons! Anyways, I was able to get some great shots of this wonderful family. I'm so thankful that we have them in our lives, they are such a joy to be around! Here are some shots from our afternoon in the Burg.
